
I was walking in the woods looking for photographs when I came across this tiny feather, less than 3 inches in length, cresting on top of the frozen snow. A sure sign that the birds are returning, the sun is shining, and maybe, just maybe, we'll survive this god-awful winter we've had. I did add this to my collection of feathers.

Brrrrr! I get cold just looking at this. It is odd, though, that my first impression was that of a whale in the ocean, taken from high above. The snow is so blue that it deceives the eye at first. I like the photo and I like your optimistic interpretation of it. I would have assumed there is some poor, frozen bird just under that layer of blue snow. Keep on postin' bro. Good work!
